Hydraulic elevators are elevator systems that can drive with a hydraulic pump unit. In hydraulic elevators, the elevator uses its own weight for downwards movements. Generally, the engine room of the hydraulic elevator is planned to be on the ground floor. The engine room consists of an oil boiler and a hydraulic system on the boiler, switchboard and pipes that the hydraulic fluid flows.
Hydraulic elevators are suitable for carrying passengers and freight. Hydraulic elevators can operate between 2 and 6 floors at 0,125 m/s and 1 m/s speed. Single cylinder hydraulic elevators can carry between 1,000 kg and 10,000 kg weight and double cylinder hydraulic elevators can carry between 10,000 kg and 90,000 kg.
In general, the engine room of hydraulic elevators is at the first stop level. There are an oil boiler and a hydraulic system on the boiler, switchboard and pipes that the hydraulic fluid flows.
In housing, factories, shopping malls and villas without engine room in the structure and with low user traffic, hydraulic elevators are commonly preferred.
